God has you in mind for one of his jobs on earth. Don't belittle your gifts, use them. Not all of us should go to the third world as missionaries. Your mission might be right in your own family.

1 Corinthians 12:4-9

Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit;
and there are varieties of service, but the same Lord;
and there are varieties of activities, but it is the same God who empowers them all in everyone.
To each is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good.
For to one is given through the Spirit the utterance of wisdom, and to another the utterance of knowledge according to the same Spirit,
to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by the one Spirit,

  1. Thank you for this one; sometimes I think something's wrong because I don't find more opportunities to do for others but sometimes God's Will is to provide nurture and help to one's family--right at home. May God bless you and yours.

    1. Thanks for this reminder. Satan is clever at telling us that we're not smart enough or knowledgeable enough or committed enough to use these gifts. Of course apart from Christ we aren't . . .but often our ministry is no further than our home or place of work.

    2. Exactly. It is so hard to know when we are being obedient or just willfully living our little lives. One thing prayer helps with is discernment.
      Thanks again for your faithfulness.

  2. Gifts are gifts, not earned, not given by asking for a specific one, not chosen by people. God, not believers, controls the gifts. They are not natural talents, skills, or abilities There is no definitive Bible list of gifts, for like waters of life flow from the one fountain. Believers are responsible to discover these unique gift(s) and how to apply them to advance faith, hope, and charity. @larrygrowe
