As I struggle to strengthen my relationship with God during Lent, I receive just the encouragement I need in my daily Bible reading. It is just so cool.

Psalm 33:13-17
The Lord looks down from heaven;
he sees all the children of man;
from where he sits enthroned he looks out
on all the inhabitants of the earth,
he who fashions the hearts of them all
and observes all their deeds.
The king is not saved by his great army;
a warrior is not delivered by his great strength.
The war horse is a false hope for salvation,
and by its great might it cannot rescue.

  1. I have been reading your blogs and I just read your profile. I enjoy your blogs very much. How would you describe your relationship with God? Do you consider yourself born again or attaining intellectual exercise? Have you read Mere Christianity and by CS Lewis?

    1. God saved me from killing myself with drink. Ever since he's been working on me, I just try to be obedient to his guidance. I have read in 'Mere Christianity' but not the whole book.
      Thanks for the compliment on the blog. And thanks for your interest.

  2. God speaks, but mostly sees! BEHOLD was one of Christ's most frequent command. God's watchful eye assures us of His attention and presence. The Hebrew etymology of LOVE is "to look upon", but moreso much more about "not turning back upon, or face away". All are the object of His watchfulness. He turns His face away from no one. None can escape His judgment. Psalms cry out this message, how the nose directs the face, that moves the conscience, that governs the brain!

    Psa 27:8    When You said, "Seek My face," my heart said to You, "Your face, O LORD, I shall seek."Psa 27:9    "Do not hide Your face from me, Do not abandon me nor forsake me, O God of my salvation!" Psa 104:29    "You hide Your face, they are dismayed; You take away their spirit, they expire And return to their dust." Psa 119:153   "Look upon my affliction and rescue me, For I do not forget Your law."

    A nose directed toward God's FACE (scripture) gains WISDOM, not intellect. For His wisdom and His instruction discerns the sayings of understanding, receiving instruction in wise behavior, righteousness, justice, and fairness. Christianity is about conduct, about moral ethical civilized behavior, not turning the face away from anyone for any reason. @larrygrowe
