Feeling hungry? Joseph's brothers sold him into slavery and now they were desperate for food. Joseph saved them all with his God-given reserves of grain. I think we are in a great spiritual famine. God has vast reserves to feed all of us. Just turn toward the light and you will be fed.

Genesis 45:5-7
But now, do not therefore be grieved or angry with yourselves because you sold me here; for God sent me before you to preserve life.
For these two years the famine has been in the land, and there are still five years in which there will be neither plowing nor harvesting.
And God sent me before you to preserve a posterity for you in the earth, and to save your lives by a great deliverance.

Are you the weary and scattered, or are you a laborer? He needs those of us who can, to to help with the harvest of the saved. Pray to be a laborer in His great harvest.

Matthew 9:36-38
Muslims converted to Christ
But when He saw the multitudes, He was moved with compassion for them, because they were weary and scattered, like sheep having no shepherd.
Then He said to His disciples, “The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few.
Therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.”

Do you have a friend who is stuck, even paralyzed by life? Be of good cheer! Introduce this friend to Jesus, He will heal her, or him.

Matthew 9:2
Then behold, they brought to Him a paralytic lying on a bed. When Jesus saw their faith, He said to the paralytic, “Son, be of good cheer; your sins are forgiven you.”

There should be no confusion here. The Psalm below is the truth about God. The men below are workers of iniquity, bloodthirsty and deceitful.

Psalm 5:4-6
For You are not a God who takes pleasure in wickedness,
Nor shall evil dwell with You.

The boastful shall not stand in Your sight;
You hate all workers of iniquity.
You shall destroy those who speak falsehood;
The Lord abhors the bloodthirsty and deceitful man.

Well this is difficult! We are only human after all. However, there is absolutely nothing more satisfying than honestly praying for the well being of someone who hates you. Try it as the sun rises.

Matthew 5:43-45
“You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’
But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you,
that you may be sons of your Father in heaven; for He makes His sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust.

Here is a very helpful red letter instruction.

Matthew 6:6-7
But you, when you pray, go into your room, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly.
And when you pray, do not use vain repetitions as the heathen do. For they think that they will be heard for their many words.

This is how it works! The devil uses our own knowledge to turn truth into a lie. Jesus knew how to combat lies with the truth. We can learn to do this too, with God's help.

Matthew 4:5-7
Then the devil took Him up into the holy city, set Him on the pinnacle of the temple,
and said to Him,
“If You are the Son of God, throw Yourself down. For it is written:
‘He shall give His angels charge over you,’
and,
‘In their hands they shall bear you up,
Lest you dash your foot against a stone.’”
Jesus said to him, “It is written again, ‘You shall not tempt the Lord your God.’”

And it begins! The sun rose on 2015 today. God is forever faithful.

Genesis 1:16-17

Washington, DC
Then God made two great lights: the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night. He made the stars also.
God set them in the firmament of the heavens to give light on the earth,
