My husband chides me for hiding my light. I like to duck the spotlight as a rule, but it may just be cowardice. This week I failed to respond when a silly woman attacked evangelicals for not keeping their religion private. Wow, I need to take these red letters words more to heart.

Mark 4:21
Also He said to them, “Is a lamp brought to be put under a basket or under a bed? Is it not to be set on a lampstand?

  1. As children we are taught these words through the song "this little light of mine" but as an adult it is easy to forget these words in the midst of the craziness of life. Thank you for the reminder of these important words.

  2. Yes, thank you for the reminder. Short story. I used to be very "shy" about showing my faith in God to people. Twenty years ago, my husband and I joined the Christian Motorcyclists Association. (we love to ride all over this beautiful country, we both love the Lord, and through the power of the Holy Spirit, we were prodded to be about our Father's business.) CMA ministers to the biker community, taking the Gospel to places and people that would never darken the door of a church. This empowered me and if you would have told me 20 years ago, I would be a witness to bikers and loving on women who are caught up in this society and letting them know their true worth, I would have said you were absolutely crazy. Well, here I am. At 66 yrs. old, God has shown me and the Holy Spirit has literally shoved me at times to do what I never thought I would. The more you let your "light shine", the easier it gets.

This day in age, we all need to step up, step out and step into our Lord's sandals and show the world we are not afraid, we are empowered, and we are ready to defend and show the people we encounter the love of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Thank you for your wonderful ministry. Thank you for the encouragement you are to all of us. Let your "light" shine!

    God Bless you!

  3. I can relate, Kim! On the internet it is so hard to be a light when we are attacked...and I'm like you, rather than begin a spiritual discussion, I usually go away, because of the time I am sure it will require to be loving and gracious. Well said and it looks like it hit many of us too! Thanks for your transparency!
