She was heartbroken! Then God gave this long barren woman the son she prayed for. She then gave God her son Samuel, who would go on to change the world. Heartbreak, sacrifice, fulfillment, God at work.

1 Samuel 1:11
And she vowed a vow and said, “O Lord of hosts, if you will indeed look on the affliction of your servant and remember me and not forget your servant, but will give to your servant a son, then I will give him to the Lord all the days of his life, and no razor shall touch his head.”

    We are studying I Samuel for the next six weeks. Church of 1122 in Jacksonville posts each sermon early each week. Watch one or two....

    I enjoy reading about Samuel's ministry. Unfortunately, his sons, like Eli his mentor's sons, did not follow after God. It was, in part, his son's behavior that led the people to ask Samuel to appoint a King over them "... like all the other nations". A sad turning point in history for God's people.
