You can see everywhere that people don't have God in their lives. The suffering is palpable. Thank you for reminding those who have lost their way or have never been shown to begin with. Often through the darkness one finds the light. I'm praying daily for the blessing of enlightenment for all.
How do you cope with believing in a god that has condemned billions to an afterlife of eternal suffering in hell for the mere mistake of being born in a location that the gospel has not reached? Is god impotent in controlling that or just an evil psychopath?
Jackson, you have missed the point. Does a father or mother market themself to their child by being there when they are hurt or brokenhearted? The perent is there because they unconditionally give their affection not because the child has purchaced their services. There is no other religion in this world whose god loves unconditionally or offers eternal hope.
Eric, I have no idea how anyone could believe that. The gospel is “good news” not bad news. That interpretation may be held by some, perhaps many, but certainly not by all. Don’t sell Christianity short by defining it that way.
Just heard from my son that one of his friends, early thirties, first baby just started crawling, has been diagnosed with a brain tumor. Soooooooo glad I don't have to wonder why a "loving god" would allow this to happen to a young father instead of to someone much more deserving, let's say Kim Yong Un, or a bastard like Khameini. Not having a god in your life is a lot easier than you think.

ReplyDeleteMarketing Christianity by promoting that life without it would be insufferable is manipulative.
ReplyDeleteDescribing the act of expressing one's faith as "Marketing" is insufferable.

ReplyDeleteEric, Christians believe in a loving God, not a condemning God.

How does not having God help that situation?
