I've read the new testament several times but only read cover to cover once. I mostly read a chapter a day. In 2013, I was desirous to start reading the classic books that educated people always quote from but I was compelled that before I read any of them, I should read the oldest and most important book first. I have learned a lot but the true lessons for me happen when the Holy Spirit focuses my attention on a certain verse or chapter. I don't believe that my intellect is helpful in my understanding of the words of God because my mind can't understand His reason. I know that for me, I will need to keep reading and studying til the day that I die in hopes understanding some of what I've read. Thank you for sharing some of your journey it is inspiring.
One only needs to remember: "All things work together for good for those that love God" When one looks back a few years it is easier to see that Someone wiser than us is in control
Kim I have read the Bible completely thru I believe e times over the years. I an now rereading Luthers Small Cathecism which I learned as a child. It is so much clearer from my perspective now (I am of the same specific faith as Mollie Hemingway MS Lutheran)
