Below is an iron-clad standard, part of the Judeo-Christian values on which America was built. Let us recognize the freedom these values provide. (By the way, these values are all in the Bible. Another reason to read it every day.)

Deuteronomy 16:19-20
You shall not pervert justice; you shall not show partiality, nor take a bribe, for a bribe blinds the eyes of the wise and twists the words of the righteous.
You shall follow what is altogether just, that you may live and inherit the land which the Lord your God is giving you.

Don't be limp! Feed on His faithfulness. It is as endless as the desires of your heart!

Psalm 37:1-4
Do not fret because of evildoers,
Nor be envious of the workers of iniquity.
For they shall soon be cut down like the grass,

And wither as the green herb.
Trust in the Lord, and do good;
Dwell in the land, and feed on His faithfulness.
Delight yourself also in the Lord,
And He shall give you the desires of your heart.

This theme runs throughout: God is merciful and ever faithful to us. We humans, not so much.

Deuteronomy 4:30-31

When you are in distress, and all these things come upon you in the latter days, when you turn to the Lord your God and obey His voice
for the Lord your God is a merciful God, He will not forsake you nor destroy you, nor forget the covenant of your fathers which He swore to them.

Are you confused by current Middle East politics? You can decide for yourself, but to me, the verses below explain why some Israelis feel as they do about the land God chose for His people.

Numbers 33:50-53
Now the Lord spoke to Moses in the plains of Moab by the Jordan, across from Jericho, saying,
“Speak to the children of Israel, and say to them: ‘When you have crossed the Jordan into the land of Canaan,
then you shall drive out all the inhabitants of the land from before you, destroy all their engraved stones, destroy all their molded images, and demolish all their high places;
you shall dispossess the inhabitants of the land and dwell in it, for I have given you the land to possess.

Are you troubled? I am! Yet in red letters He tells us these things must happen.

Mark 13:7-8

But when you hear of wars and rumors of wars, do not be troubled; for such things must happen, but the end is not yet.
For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be earthquakes in various places, and there will be famines and troubles. These are the beginnings of sorrows.

Take a moment to stand in awe. Look at what He's done. Most of us cannot even get to work on time. Don't we think He would be better running our lives than we are?

Psalm 33:6-9
By the word of the Lord the heavens were made,
And all the host of them by the breath of His mouth.
He gathers the waters of the sea together as a heap;
He lays up the deep in storehouses.

Let all the earth fear the Lord;
Let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of Him.

Numbers 6:24-26
“The Lord bless you and keep you;
The Lord make His face shine upon you,
And be gracious to you;
The Lord lift up His countenance upon you,
And give you peace.”’

We all know a hypocrite or two. Are you one? In red letters, Jesus tells us he doesn't care what we do for show, he cares about our priorities. Love God, then walk the walk.

Mark 7:6-7
He answered and said to them, “Well did Isaiah prophesy of you hypocrites, as it is written:

‘This people honors Me with their lips,
But their heart is far from Me.
And in vain they worship Me,
Teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.’
