Wow, a refugee, a foreigner made famous throughout history by having a book of the Bible named for her. She was the multi-great grandmother of Jesus. Who knows where we would be without her.

Ruth 2:10-12
So she fell on her face, bowed down to the ground, and said to him, “Why have I found favor in your eyes, that you should take notice of me, since I am a foreigner?”
And Boaz answered and said to her, “It has been fully reported to me, all that you have done for your mother-in-law since the death of your husband, and how you have left your father and your mother and the land of your birth, and have come to a people whom you did not know before.
The Lord repay your work, and a full reward be given you by the Lord God of Israel, under whose wings you have come for refuge.”

Something just for me. I am going to start praying this every morning. It covers everything.

Psalm 51:10-11
Create in me a clean heart, O God,
And renew a steadfast spirit within me.
Do not cast me away from Your presence,
And do not take Your Holy Spirit from me.

There are not a lot of qualifiers here. Just do it.

Luke 17:3
Take heed to yourselves. If your brother sins against you, rebuke him; and if he repents, forgive him.

I always watch how someone treats 'the little people.' It is where character is revealed.

Luke 16:10
He who is faithful in what is least is faithful also in much; and he who is unjust in what is least is unjust also in much.

This is so hard. This is not just hard, it is impossible. Which is why we needed God on earth to give us a way through, to forgive us when we fail and to hold us to the highest standard, heart and soul.

Joshua 22:5
But take careful heed to do the commandment and the law which Moses the servant of the Lord commanded you, to love the Lord your God, to walk in all His ways, to keep His commandments, to hold fast to Him, and to serve Him with all your heart and with all your soul.

This is a lot easier when you have stuff than when you have nothing. But as the man says, life is not about stuff.

Luke 12:15
And He said to them, “Take heed and beware of covetousness, for one’s life does not consist in the abundance of the things he possesses.”

Ever wonder why people who have everything can still be so unhappy? Because real heart-satisfying joy only comes from one place. The man with the red letters can show you where that is.

Luke 10:23-24
Then He turned to His disciples and said privately, “Blessed are the eyes which see the things you see;
for I tell you that many prophets and kings have desired to see what you see, and have not seen it, and to hear what you hear, and have not heard it.”

Here was a mighty wall built to keep the sojourners out. It fell flat. God had bigger plans.

Joshua 6:20
The walls of Jerico
So the people shouted when the priests blew the trumpets. And it happened when the people heard the sound of the trumpet, and the people shouted with a great shout, that the wall fell down flat. Then the people went up into the city, every man straight before him, and they took the city.

Is today your day??
