When I am in trouble, I'm getting better at turning to God in the first place and not as a last resort. I still forget sometimes. That never turns out well.

Psalm 69:16-18
Hear me, O Lord, for Your lovingkindness is good;
Turn to me according to the multitude of
Your tender mercies.
And do not hide Your face from Your servant,
For I am in trouble;
Hear me speedily.
Draw near to my soul, and redeem it;
Deliver me because of my enemies.

  2. Kim, Have you ever read Andrew Murray? He has several works about the Vine and the branches. The one that comes to mind, "The shorter the branch, the bigger the fruit." Our church is studying John. Chapter 15 was the topic today (and will be for a few months).

    1. Thank you, I'll look for Andrew Murray works. Yes, 'short' can be very productive.

  3. I think we all forget to lean on God first, at times. I've learned that it is a discipline first, then as we grow in our walk with the Lord, it becomes easier and easier to seek Him first...and all these things will be added. I enjoy your blog, Kim!

    1. How kind of you. I have experienced the same: a discipline at first and then it gets easier with practice. But sometimes I drift. It doesn't take much drifting to get a lesson in humility. Thanks for your encouragement.

    2. You're so right...drifting away brings us to our knees, sometimes. But aren't we blessed to have such a forgiving God - One who loves us unconditionally and from everlasting to everlasting!
