Watching fireworks July 4th, I was caught between hope and dismay for my country. Luckily I have the Psalms to remind me where to find optimism and answers.

Psalm 3:3-4
But you, O Lord, are a shield around me, my glory, and the one who lifts up my head.
I cry aloud to the Lord, and he answers me from his holy hill. Selah
