Now here’s a guy with really effective priorities. Lucky he had that book. We have it too! It’s the Holy Bible.

2 Chronicles 34:31
And the king stood in his place and made a covenant before the Lord, to walk after the Lord and to keep his commandments and his testimonies and his statutes, with all his heart and all his soul, to perform the words of the covenant that were written in this book.

  1. Jesus later gave us the most important commandment, which is to love God with all your heart and all your soul. Why would one not, when one realizes that everything good that one has is from God with and because of love. As is shown in Kings and Chronicles, it seems that man has a love / hate relationship with God. It seems that man is bipolar.

  2. I love that chapter. I'm experiencing God's abundant mercy after going astray for 13 years. I'd known the forgiveness of God in Christ. I knew His word and had acted in faith upon it numerous times. Yet, 17 years after being saved, I allowed myself to be deceived by the things of the world. Eight years and eight months after repenting of that period in my life, I'm now experiencing the same grace and mercy that Josiah experienced.
