A simple thing changed my life forever. In the Psalm below David says, “Let me hear in the morning of your steadfast love.” Mornings, reading the Bible, I have come to know God, come to know Christ and come to know myself. This great gift can be in your hands. Let God give it to you among all His other bounty.

 Psalm 143:8-10

Let me hear in the morning of your steadfast love, for in you I trust. Make me know the way I should go, for to you I lift up my soul. Deliver me from my enemies, O Lord! I have fled to you for refuge. Teach me to do your will, for you are my God! Let your good Spirit lead me on level ground!

  1. I hope this isn't too personal but how are some of the ways the LORD speak to you of his covenant love (chesed) each morning?

  2. I'm not Kim but I read you comment and couldn't help but share with you ... how the LORD speaks to me.

I have loved to read all my life and now that I am semi-retired, and live alone, I read, read, read … while I wait on the phone, while I eat, even when the TV is on … I REALLY like to read.

About 45 years or so ago, after finishing a novel, the thought popped into my head … what if I died and when I stood before GOD and he asked me why I had NEVER read HIS book completely thru … I would have to be truthful and tell Him I started many, many times in my life but got disinterested and dropped reading it and picked up a novel instead … I could only imagine my embarrassment to tell Him that!

I took up the challenge again but started in Matthew, the first book of the New Testament this time … I had to grit my teeth some days but stuck with it throughout the NT and then went to the Old Testament and then continued into the NT again …

I read in a pattern where I stopped when I felt “full” and always on the first chapter on the left side of the open page. I can’t explain what feeling “full” means but if you take on this challenge, you will just know.

As I began the second time thru, I realized that God had began to trust me that I was going to be consistent … Suddenly scriptures would POP out to me in that daily reading that would be either an answer to some questions I had had for years or for a solution/answer to a situation I was involved in at that time … it seemed to me that GOD knew in advance what situations I would be in and had me land on His Word at just the right day and time. That was when I realized He really DID have a Plan for my life.

I used colored pencils to mark those particular scriptures and date them in the margins … After going thru this second time … which was the old King James Version my Godparents gave me when I was confirmed … I picked up a copy of the Amplified Bible and continued reading daily … in my established pattern … and because of the expanded wording of that version … felt more understanding of what God was telling me thru His Word.

There were even times when I read something that day that seemed to me that I should share with a friend … I didn’t know why but I became obedient … sometimes my friends would tell me that was exactly what they needed to hear that day and I realized that this was another Gift that God had bestowed on me… the Gift of Comforting a friend!

I feel led to share this with you today as I have shared with others over the years that this might inspire YOU to copy my pattern and make it your own and trust that He will Speak to YOU also and you will be Blessed and become a Blessing to Others.

Here’s to a Great 2021 and a new “boost” to your relationship with our Heavenly Father, Son and Holy Spirit for you and renew your Faith that He does have a Plan for YOUR Life too!

    Amen … So Be It!

  3. I love this! It makes me think of a poem that my Grandmother saved in her things. I've written it below.

    The Secret (from Hilltop Verses)

I met God in the morning
When my day was at its best,
And His Presence came like sunrise,
Like a glory in my breast.

All day long the Presence lingered,
All day long He stayed with me,
And we sailed in perfect calmness
    O'er a very troubled sea

Other ships were blown and battered,
    Other ships were sore distressed,
But the winds that seemed to drive them
Brought to us a peace and rest.

Then I thought of other mornings,
With a keen remorse of mind,
When I too had loosed the moorings,
    With the Presence left behind.

So I think I know the secret,
Learned from many a troubled way:
You must seek Him in the morning
If you want Him through the day!
