They almost missed him (Saul aka Paul) because he was such an unlikely believer. Barnabas was a Christian. He knew to take in Paul. If you are a Christian, have faith and an open mind. The most unlikely guy could help save the world.

Acts 9:26-28
And when Saul had come to Jerusalem, he tried to join the disciples; but they were all afraid of him, and did not believe that he was a disciple.

But Barnabas took him and brought him to the apostles. And he declared to them how he had seen the Lord on the road, and that He had spoken to him, and how he had preached boldly at Damascus in the name of Jesus.
So he was with them at Jerusalem, coming in and going out.

This Pharisee was no dope. He told the temple leaders to leave the Apostles alone. I have always thought the best argument for Christianity is the fact that it is still around after a couple thousand years. If it were not true it would have died out a long time ago.

We put ourselves in our own prisons; stubbornness, overwork, addiction, debt, whatever it is. Once we give over and let God deal with it, we find freedom. But let us share "the words of this life." We might be angels helping to free others.

The officials of the temple were worried sick that this Jesus stuff would catch on. They were right to worry. Let us not stop now "speaking the things which we have seen and heard."

"Your word is truth." Such a simple fact about God prayed by His son as he was about to go die. Why do we go on arguing and questioning whether God's word is true? Isn't sanctification enough of a motive?

This is so profound it's hard to even get it. I think every time I have a pang of conscience it is the man with the red letters working in me. If He had not spoken, I wouldn't recognize my sin. Imagine what a mess our lives would be without Him.
