This is so profound it's hard to even get it. I think every time I have a pang of conscience it is the man with the red letters working in me. If He had not spoken, I wouldn't recognize my sin. Imagine what a mess our lives would be without Him.
John 15:22
If I had not come and spoken to them, they would have no sin, but now they have no excuse for their sin.
The deeper you study your faith the deeper you study your conscience the more you realize what a state of sin you once happily dwelled in... Be happy God challenges us in Life with solvable sufferings so our Pride diminishes our Humility grows and brings us in a closer relationship with Christ!
ReplyDeleteKevin, this is so good. I pray often for humility. I do love the challenge and mostly I love being closer to Christ.
DeleteThanks so much for your comment.
Kim Humility is the only way to have an ongoing & deeper relationship with GOD.
ReplyDeleteIt doesn't happen overnight..I was in the corporate world Humility was seen as a sense of weakness.. Success breads self Importance and the greater the success the more a personal life gets out of balance. Family Friends marriage & God become all about WORK Fame Success and Signs of Importance which become money Contacts & stuff.
God speaks to us over 100 times daily. He tries to get our attention by life moving events.Lost Job, calamity He wants us in that Hour of need to turn to Him and feel his mercy & Peace. You can be a Billionaire and never experience The ULTIMATE peace without JESUS CHRIST as the center of your life.
It is fun when you find it... God really does protect you and lets you be emotionally fulfilled outside the worldly parameters of happiness .haha I call it when you live your life for Christ and truly let him manage your life it is like Jumping out of a plane without a parachute and knowing you will not hit the ground and die!haha
I have now begun studying the Bible from the beginning how the Old testament was constructed how the Apostles used it preaching. How the Jews Transitioned in their beliefs from Jews to Christians. The early celebration of the mass. How they evangelized. The neat part is the early church Fathers some who traveled with Peter & apostles. it is like having the guy who rowed the Boat with George washington shares with us his travails.
Here is a sample of one The DIDACHE
