So when that thought pops into your head, "Uhm, I wonder how Susie's doing?" (Or whatever it is.) The Lord, the God of hosts has declared to you that thought. You might want to listen and act on it.

Amos 4:13

For behold, he who forms the mountains and creates the wind,
and declares to man what is his thought,
who makes the morning darkness,
and treads on the heights of the earth—
the Lord, the God of hosts, is his name!

  1. I read your blog all the time and really enjoy doing so. Keep up the great work. You and Brit are two of my all time favorite people. Brit for his great commentary and you, not he least of which, for bringing Megyn Kelly into the folds of FOX news. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and your family.

    1. Dear Rick,
Thank you so much for reading and for the encouragement. Megyn Kelly turns out to be one of my greatest accomplishments! The number of people who read my blog pales in comparison to the number of people who watch her.
May you see the face of Christ,

  2. Foreground of action has a character, a conscience, a moral background upon which life and meaning sinks or swims. A Robot has no background of character, no conscience. Its deeds are simple, lacking the feedback powers of listening, and redirection.

In 1970's when I met the noonday devil, I learned God speaks to us more through others, than direct! It took three years to shut brain off and listen. I always looked for the righteous Christian conscience, like these postings, as to what to read and what to contemplate. God has a voice, listen to it in others, of conscience. To differentiate a value from an ideology requires the HS. @larrygrowe

    1. Larry, there you go again putting a fine point on a mysterious process. The answer is so simple: listen, and hear the voice of God in others. The Holy Spirit is our helper, I'm so glad it speaks to me through you.

    1. Cynthia,
Thank you again for being such a faithful reader and retweeter. I can muse at random and have it reach more people because of your faithfulness. Thank you. May His face shine upon you.

  4. That happened to me on Saturday! I had been missing a friend from church who I used to see all the time in my Ladies' class. She's had a difficult year. I'm glad to know that The Lord directed my thoughts toward her. I sought her out this morning and she is just so sad. Now I know how to pray for her

    1. Margaret,
That's wonderful. Such a miracle and all you did was act on a seemingly random thought. It is so lovely to see God at work among his creations. Thank you for telling me this. May you see the face of Christ in your missing friend.
