I will bring the one–third through the fire,
Will refine them as silver is refined,
And test them as gold is tested.
They will call on My name,
And I will answer them.
I will say, ‘This is My people’;
And each one will say, ‘The Lord is my God.’”

In the fire - really, as I look back, fire after fire. I have been reading your blog and know you have the gift of wisdom. Wish we could have coffee and I could soak up the wisdom.
ReplyDeleteThe word fire is used in various ways, burning up something, whether people, things, or animals. Both idols and the golden calf were burned up by fire. It is used as a symbol for God. The Lord's anger could be depicted as burning like fire. Wickedness was also described as consuming like fire, including tongue of fire.
ReplyDeleteThe Christian Church since its foundation has endured a great continual fight of afflictions, by which it shall be refined, not consumed even 2014. Faith and hope has a purifying combustion greater than fire. @larrygrowe
