Psalm 24:3-5
Who shall ascend the hill of the Lord?
And who shall stand in his holy place?
He who has clean hands and a pure heart,
who does not lift up his soul to what is false
and does not swear deceitfully.
He will receive blessing from the Lord
and righteousness from the God of his salvation.
Who shall ascend the hill of the Lord?
And who shall stand in his holy place?
He who has clean hands and a pure heart,
who does not lift up his soul to what is false
and does not swear deceitfully.
He will receive blessing from the Lord
and righteousness from the God of his salvation.
This Psalm refers to one who has not devoted self to false idols, but has sought a more moral reality. God values his honesty commandment. Lying is the first fallen mortal domino, tripping others to follow! Without honesty, no relationship with anyone is possible.
ReplyDeleteTurning TO one thing requires turning FROM another. Surrendering conscience to God requires a certain predisposed mindset. Content of character, fortitude, prudence, temperance, and justice forms the foundation for spiritual growth. A conscience enlightened by the self perception of ones character with a humility, beginning with one's sense of mortality, where death is the certainty, life the uncertainty. @larrygrowe
